Who We Are
About PlanRN
PlanRN is an AI-powered nursing care plan generator operated by Praxis Re Nata (pending LLC formation), based in Charlotte, North Carolina. When you see "we," "us," or "our" in this policy, that's us.
PlanRN is an educational tool. It is not a clinical resource, an electronic health record, or a substitute for professional nursing judgment. The care plans you build here are for learning — not for use with real patients in real clinical settings.
Account Information
When you create an account — whether by email/password or Google Sign-In — we collect:
- Your name and email address
- Google profile information (if you use Google Sign-In)
- Your subscription tier and billing status
- Usage data — care plans created, features used
Care Plan Content
The patient scenarios, assessment findings, diagnoses, and care plan content you enter into PlanRN are stored in your account and processed by our AI system to generate your care plan.
Important: PlanRN is for educational use only. Do not enter real patient information, real names, real medical record numbers, or any other Protected Health Information (PHI). Care plan content should always be fictional or anonymized.
We understand it may not always be possible to control exactly what is typed — we take reasonable precautions, but we cannot guarantee that no PHI ever enters the system.
Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details. Stripe's own privacy policy governs how your payment information is handled.
We do store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status so we know whether your account is active.
Usage & Analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how people use PlanRN — which features are used most, where users get stuck, and how to improve the experience. This data is anonymized and aggregated.
We also collect basic usage data (plans created, exports downloaded) to manage your storage tier and improve the product.
AI Processing
When you build a care plan, your patient scenario and clinical inputs are sent to the Anthropic Claude API — a third-party AI service — to generate suggestions, diagnoses, and care plan content. Anthropic's privacy policy governs how they handle data sent to their API.
We send only the content necessary to generate your care plan. We do not intentionally transmit any information that could identify you personally to the AI system. However, because you control what you type into the scenario fields, please do not include any real patient identifiers.
To Operate PlanRN
- Authenticate your account and maintain your session
- Store and display your care plans based on your subscription tier
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Generate care plan content using the AI system
- Send you transactional emails (welcome, usage reminders)
To Improve PlanRN
- Analyze anonymous usage patterns via GA4
- Understand whether our users are primarily students or educators
- Identify features that need improvement
- Occasionally share blog posts, product updates, or nursing content by email
What We Never Do
These aren't buried in fine print — they're the foundation of how PlanRN operates:
- We never sell your personal data to anyone, for any reason
- We never share your care plan content with third parties beyond what's required to generate it
- We do not use advertising pixels or retargeting trackers (no Facebook Pixel, no Google Ads tracking)
- We do not use your care plan content to train AI models
- We never share your data with your school or institution without your explicit consent
Care Plan Storage
How many care plans we store for you depends on your subscription:
- Free: Up to 2 in-progress, 3 completed plans
- Pro Monthly / Semester: Up to 5 in-progress, 10 completed plans
- Pro Annual: Up to 5 in-progress, unlimited completed plans
Account Retention
Your account — and your login — is retained indefinitely unless you delete it. You'll always be able to come back to PlanRN and your account will be there.
If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently and immediately deleted from our systems. This cannot be undone.
To delete your account, use the account settings in the app or email hello@planrn.com.
Third-Party Services
PlanRN uses the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage. Your data is stored with row-level security so only you can access it.
- Stripe — payment processing. We never store your card details.
- Anthropic (Claude API) — AI processing for care plan generation. Only care plan content is sent — not your name, email, or account details.
- Vercel — application hosting and deployment.
- Resend — transactional and notification email delivery.
- Sanity — blog content management. Does not have access to your account data.
- Google Analytics (GA4) — anonymous, aggregated usage analytics.
How We Use Cookies
PlanRN uses two types of cookies:
- Essential cookies — required for the app to function. These keep you logged in and maintain your session. You cannot opt out of these and still use PlanRN.
- Analytics cookies (GA4) — help us understand how people use PlanRN. These are anonymous and aggregated. You can accept or reject these using the cookie banner when you first visit.
Your Cookie Choices
When you first visit PlanRN, a cookie banner will give you the option to accept or reject non-essential (analytics) cookies.
You can change your preferences at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site. You can also configure your browser to block all cookies, though this may affect your ability to stay logged in.
We do not use advertising cookies or retargeting pixels of any kind.
What You Can Do
- Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction: Update your name or email in account settings
- Deletion: Delete your account and all data — instantly, permanently
- Export: Download any care plan in Word, PDF, or Image format at any time
- Opt out: Unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time
How to Exercise Your Rights
Most actions are available directly in the app — you can delete your account, update your profile, and export your care plans without contacting us.
For anything else — including data access requests or questions about what we hold — email us at hello@planrn.com. We'll respond within 5 business days.
Children's Privacy
Policy Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. For minor changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes — anything that affects how we collect, use, or share your data — we'll notify you by email before the change takes effect.
Continued use of PlanRN after a policy change constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
